Heated blankets and throws for distributors, importers and private-label programmes. Two build types on one controller platform: single-zone throws and dual-zone blankets where each side sets its own temperature. Certification is matched to your market before the carton is printed, not after.
Four questions buyers actually search for
“How much does it cost to run?” Around 100 W on 120 V — roughly one-thirtieth of a 1,500 W space heater for the same hours. We quote the wattage per size, because a king draws more than a throw.
“Can two people set different temperatures?” On dual-control models, yes: two controllers, two zones, independent settings. Dual control is offered on queen and king; throws and full sizes ship single-zone.
“What happens if the cord or controller fails?” Controller and cord are supplied as service parts. That is the part that fails first, and holding spares is what keeps a distributor’s customer instead of losing them to a replacement purchase.
“Is there a cordless version?” A battery version is a separate build: different motor-free heating circuit, different certification, and UN38.3 plus MSDS before a carrier will book it. Ask for it as its own SKU rather than assuming a cable swap.

Certification, by market
| Рынок | Standard | What it means for the carton |
|---|---|---|
| Соединенные Штаты | ETL to UL 964, plus FCC | 120 V plug, controller and cord certified as one assembly |
| Европейский союз | CE — LVD and EMC; GS optional for German retail | 220-240 V, local-language manual, energy information |
| Великобритания | UKCA | Marked separately from CE — one label is not the other |
| Gulf | CE documentation; SASO or G-Mark quoted per project | We do not pre-commit a Gulf certificate |
A heated blanket combines three risks — direct skin contact, mains power and hours of unattended use. The certificate number has to belong to the batch that ships, not to a sample. We send the report with the quotation so your compliance team can check it before the order, not after arrival.
Where the margin actually is
Three things separate a blanket that reorders from one that returns:
- A detachable controller. The blanket can be washed like bedding, which is the whole point of a fabric product.
- A service-parts list on the first order. Controller and cord at a stated ratio — this is the cheapest retention tool in the category.
- Dual control on large sizes. Two people, two temperatures. It is the easiest feature to demonstrate on a shop floor and the hardest for a cheap competitor to copy well.
Who buys this, and what they need before season
| Buyer type | What they ask first | What we prepare for them |
|---|---|---|
| Home textiles distributor | Does it wash, and does the controller come off? | Fabric GSM, wash test note, detachable controller confirmed in the manual |
| Electrical wholesaler | Which certificate, and whose name is on it? | ETL to UL 964 report, FCC, batch-linked certificate numbers |
| Private-label brand | Can the labelling and manual be ours? | Artwork on blanket label, carton, manual, rating label |
| Online seller | Will it survive a pallet and a return? | Carton drop note, return-rate drivers, controller as a spare part |
How a distributor programme runs
- Slot booking. Blankets are a seasonal build. Container slots for October arrival are confirmed by June; a late order lands in January and misses the season.
- Spare-parts ratio. Controllers and cords at an agreed percentage of the order, set at order stage, not after the first failure.
- Mixed sizes in one container. Throw, full, queen and king can ship together, so the first order tests four price points instead of one.
- Certification lead time. A new market means a new certificate — weeks, not days, and it sits before artwork approval.
Frequently asked questions
What is the MOQ and can sizes be mixed?
1,000 pcs per model, and sizes or colours can be mixed inside one container so a first order does not have to be a single SKU.
Does the blanket work as a normal throw when unplugged?
Yes. The controller detaches and the blanket is an ordinary flannel/sherpa throw, which is why it does not have to be stored for eight months a year.
Can we buy controllers separately for after-sales?
Yes — quoted as a percentage of the order or as a standalone line. They must be the original part: a third-party cord voids the certification of the whole assembly.
Is a cordless heated blanket available?
It is a separate build with its own battery certification and UN38.3 documentation. Ask for it as its own SKU; it is not a modification of the mains version.
What is the lead time?
Samples in 7-10 working days; production 30-40 days after deposit and artwork approval, longer if the certification has to be issued for a new market.
Is this a seasonal product for you?
It is. Demand runs October to February. We plan it alongside summer lines so the container schedule does not put all the volume in one quarter.
